Hoosier Trails 5K Campout

On Friday, November 12, 2021, 11 scouts and 4 adults set up camp alongside the 11-acre lake at CERAland Park in Columbus, Indiana. Then on Saturday morning, the troop presented colors at and then participated in the 6th Annual Hoosier Trails 5K Run/Walk. It was a beautiful sunny day with a high of 55°, and a low of 23°. A perfect day for a fun run! Colton finished 1st for 148 Youth and 22nd overall with a time of 29:51.6. Kristopher finished 2nd for 148 Youth (31st overall) at 32:49.7 and Peter finished 3rd for 148 Youth (43rd overall) at 37:49.7. Followed by David (43:46.5), Sammy (45:52.8), Logan (45:53.2), Jeff (48:10.5), Evan (1:08:11.8), Gavin (1:08:15.0), Matthew (1:08:16.0), and Logan (1:08:16.0). Great job guys!

Sammy & David’s dad, Layne, finished 1st for the 148 Adults (18th overall) with a time of 27:13.6. He was followed by Jerrilyn at 2nd place (45:44.5), Kevin in 3rd (1:06:59.3), Lesa, and Heather! Our Troop earned 3rd place overall for participating units! It was a pretty impressive showing for our first time participating as a unit!

After the 5K, the scouts celebrated by eating walking tacos for lunch and playing lots of gaga ball!
