Pokagon State Park Toboggan Run

During the weekend of February 10-12, we are heading north for some cold weather camping at the Anthony Wayne Scout Reservation, then spending Saturday at Pokagon State Park in Angola, IN climbing the 30-foot tower then conquering the dips, valleys, and 90 foot vertical drop over the quarter-mile course of the Pokagon Toboggan Run. With a top recorded speed of 42 mph, this 30 second ride is sure to impress even the most experienced thrill seekers.

For those who haven’t been to Pokagon before, make sure to pack your cold weather gear, especially gloves which must be worn to ride the toboggan, because there is not indoor gathering space available. However, there are heated restaurants and hot drinks available at the concession stand. And don’t worry, even if it isn’t that cold during our trip, snow is not needed to ride the Toboggan, because it is on a refrigerated track.
