Cabin Campout & Merit Badge Day

On Friday, November 8, scouts and adult leaders of Troop 148 embarked on a memorable weekend cabin campout at Maumee Scout Reservation in the heart of the Hoosier National Forest. With exclusive access to the camp, the scouts were able to enjoy the quiet and solitude of the woods with plenty of time for exploration and camaraderie!

On Saturday morning, the scouts traveled to Bedford North Lawrence High School to participate in the Merit Badge Fair where scouts were able to work on merit badges in various subjects from Chess to Game Design to First Aid and more.

After the merit badge fair, the scouts headed back to MSR to roast marshmallows and share stories around a cozy campfire on a cold night before retiring to their warm cabins for one final night. Then on Sunday morning, in adherence with the Leave No Trace principles, the scouts made sure to clean the cabins and surrounding areas before heading home. A big thank-you to the leaders, parents, and volunteers who helped make this event a success.
