Blue Canoe’s Kayak Trip
On Saturday, July 13, 2024, three adults and seven scouts ventured to Blue's Canoe Livery in Edinburgh for a thrilling 7-mile kayak trip down the scenic Driftwood River in south-central Indiana. With 85-degree weather, a light breeze, and sunny skies, it was an ideal day to navigate the river’s twists and turns while enjoying the lush green riverbanks and occasional wildlife sightings.
Throughout the day, the scouts demonstrated teamwork by helping each other navigate tricky spots and right overturned kayaks, while the adults provided guidance, support, and encouragement, making the outing a true demonstration of the scout spirit!
A little over halfway through the trip, the troop found a serene spot to beach their kayaks and take a short break. They shared snacks, told stories, and enjoyed moments of laughter before paddling the last few miles. By the end of the two-hour trip, the scouts were hot and sweaty but filled with pride and exhilaration from their adventure. Until next time, paddle on!
