The weekend of October 13-15, scouts will participate in the annual Westside Fall Camporee at Camp Indicoso, which sits on 186 acres of rolling hills and trees in Springville, Indiana. The theme of this year’s camporee is “Scoutish” Highland Games! So, gather yer castle’s clans!
Clans of the Wapehani and White River Trails Districts of the Hoosier Trails Council of Scouts USA are invited to the Scoutish Highland Games hosted by the 343rd Mackenzies (Troop 343) of Springville, Indiana to celebrate their Scottish heritage and participate in some traditional Scotting games, including the Caber Toss, the Braemer Stone Put, the Battle Hammer Toss, the Farmer’s Walk, the Battle Ax Throw, the Kilted Run, a Tug-O-War, Golf, and the Clanmaster’s Challenge (aka the Scoutmaster’s Challenge) . Along the way, scouts will learn a dance step or two, spin a yarn about their clan, listen to a performance of Rabbie Burns’s poem Address to a Haggis, and learn about other famous Scots throughout history.
